Meeting on deforestation boosts morale, budget for REDD-plus

The Norway-France interim partnership for REDD-plus convened its first meeting recently, to mobilize funds for developing coutnries to reduce their emissions from deforestation. France, Norway and four other countries pledged an initial $3.5 billion to REDD Plus through 2012.
