Researchers from CIAT, the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture, will be attending the 2010 annual meeting of the Association of American Geographers in Washington DC from April 14-18 to present their Amazon research.

Google.org develops online forest tracking tool

Google.org, the philanthrophic arm of the information giant, has developed a new technology prototype that enables online, global-scale observation and measurement of changes in the earth's forests. The program, which uses google sattelite imagery, allows scientists to locate and measure deforestation and forest regeneration.
