Sustainable Agriculture And Natural Resource Management Collaborative Research Support Program For Southeast Asia

This project aims to develop and implement a coordinated information, education and communication (IEC) strategy designed to enhance the dissemination of sustainable agriculture and natural resource management (SANREM) results; to disseminate the lessons and achievements of SANREM community-based research and extension to farmers and resource users/managers; to produce research based materials for use by university-level programs locally and in Vietnam; to strengthen GIS capacity of the province of Bukidnon; to assess the effectiveness of the IEC strategy using an agreed-upon set of indicators and instruments. SANREM has reached a stage where communicating results through effective communication strategies becomes even more critical. To do this, the partners need to develop and implement an innovative and responsive IEC strategy to disseminate the results of over five years of research and development work in the study area and effect positive or desired behavioural changes among different actors and stakeholders. Funding: United States AID. Region: Philippines - Province of Bukidnon. (Project leaders: Ian Coxhead and Romulo Aggangan).
