| Abstract | This study focuses on specifying the constraints and barriers to local sustainable development (defined as the convergence of economic production with environmental resource management) in small plots in the Ucayali region, Peru. Identifying these obstacles from the perspective of the farmers themselves was measured through interviews with farmers in 26 villages of the areas of San Alejandro and New Requena. Specifically, it has focused on socio-economic constraints and biophysical farm level, obstacles to the adoption of technologies and their political, economic, and social and impact of grassroots institutions (governmental and nongovernmental producer associations, donors) on farmers and vice versa. |
