| Abstract | The survey, conducted by Embrapa, recommended the kikuyu-of-the-amazon (Brachiaria humidicola) as a grass adapted to soil and climatic conditions of the region and more tolerant to attack froghopper pastures. This grass is widely used in the formation and recovery of pasture in Para and other states of Brazil. However, in addition to suffering mild attacks, this pest encountered resistance from producers in Acre, due to establishment slower and lower quality of forage produced, which limited the degree for use in animal production systems. |
