| Abstract | The design of Sustainable alternatives to slash-and-burn agriculture in the humid tropics Should not only focus on Improving yields on But Also Reducing costs. ADOPTED widely Pucallpa Have Improved Farmers kudzu (Pueraria phaseoloides) Fallows Which Increase yields, And Also reduces labor costs. Econometric analysis Indicated That the use of kudzu-improved Fallows Decreased forest clearing primary and secondary INCREASED the use of forests. Strategies for Designing agroforestry Fallows That Have a great Potential for Reducing all types of deforestation Also are discussed. |
