| Abstract | Montagnini et al. (1992) claim that the agroforestry systems (AFS) adapt very well to the production schedule of family farms,
boosting the use of manpower available in the property. diversification and integration of crops and livestock are extremely beneficial to environmental and sociocultural conditions of small farmers. according to same source, this system of land use constitutes an alternative for minimize environmental degradation, from a development perspective sustainable. Due to the greater diversity of species in the system, there is better use of natural resources (nutrients, water and light) in the tree component generally contributes to protecting and improving the soil and maintaining the process of direct cycling of nutrients. Additionally, you can improve the living standards of rural workers, as favors economic sustainability. |
