| Abstract | Experiences from Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela, discussed during a 10-day workshop in January demonstrated that agroforestry is proving a powerful approach to counteracting environmental degradation in the Amazon. The workshop is part of the agenda of the Amazon Initiative, a new international consortium for sustainable use of natural resources which aims to design and implement collaborative programs in the region. |
