The workshop, convened by The University of East Anglia (UK) and the University of California at Berkeley (USA), is intended to bring together leading activists and researchers in international forestry to discuss together how the rights-based agenda might contribute to inclusive futures for people and sustainable forest management.

Request for paper submissions:

We are calling for the submission of paper proposals on the rights-based agenda in forestry. The papers should address one or more of the following questions:

- What are the critical emerging issues in the rights-based agenda in international forestry?
- What implications does the rights-based agenda bear on key forest policies?
- What are the main challenges encountered by the rights-based agenda at the international, national, and local levels?
Please send paper proposals (up to 300 words) as an Email attachment to Johannes Stahl (JStahl@nature.berkeley.edu) by December 10, 2008. The results of the paper selection will be announced by December 19, 2008. Full papers (up to 6,000 words) will be due on May 1st, 2009.
