The social and economical factors are more important for farmers than the biophysical, what stimulates them to seek new technologies, which will enable them to have a more productive and low -cost crop. The most important limitation found was the lack of seed, and inadequate tree density used by farmers. Different types of coffee plantations with tress were identified; they are based in the differences composition of the species and the intensity of management of the coffee plantation. The monocrops coffee plantation have better production than the association coffee x trees, but the farmers' research emphasizes on the wood trees, because the prices in the market are higher.</style>
</record></records></xml>
