Its a large tree that can reach up to 50 m high and 2 m in diameter at the base. The tree is straight, cylindrical, not buttressed, devoid of branches until the top, with bark dark brown and
split longitudinally (Correa, 1931). Its wood is of excellent quality construction and shipbuilding, as well as props and external works. It can also be considered as a good source of cellulose (Loureiro et al., 1979). Currently, the exploitation of native copies is prohibited by law.
Experiments designed by the Center for Agroforestry Research of EMBRAPA Amazônia Oriental Belém do Pará have shown that, along with other forest species, the Brazil-nut is an excellent alternative for reforestation of degraded pasture or annual crops. Due to the importance of this species and in view of the need for data silvicultural the same, this study aimed to estimate growth equations of Bertholletia excelsa HBK growing conditions in the state of Rondonia.</style>
</record></records></xml>
